4th Shreveport Bead Retreat

O.K. Here we are again getting ready for the Shreveport Bead Retreat. The Clarion Hotel 1419 East 70th Street, Shreveport, LA 71105 We are further from the Casinos but closer to some great shopping area.

For those of you who have attended the Texas Bead Retreat or the Arkansas Bead Cave this will be very similar. This year registrants have the option of coming in on Thursday and get a head start on the weekend. We will start Friday around lunch with possibly two classes being taught that day (but we will have the meeting room all day Friday, so if you can come early) and continue till Sunday early afternoon. Your hotel room will Not available until 3:00 p.m. The meals will be a set menu and I will try to select something that everyone will enjoy. Any special diet requirements can be handled if I know in advance. This will be a fun filled weekend with Beaders coming to share and learn from each other. Reservation will be on a first come first reserve basis with prior registrants given first choice at the available spaces. Your registration fee will guarantee your spot at the retreat. If you are sharing a room please let me know your roommate.

Challenge: This year's challenge hasn't been decided but it will be a challenge ... Prizes are great as usual!

Bracelet swap: Make a bracelet in your size to swap. Please limit your bracelets for the swap to two. We will do the swap on Saturday after supper. Bracelets should be made in half inch sizes ex. - 6 1/2, 7, 7 1.2, 8, 8 1/2, etc. Please measure accurately.

White Elephant Box: Bring your unwanted items to share with others your rejects might be someone's wants... II have been looking through my stash and pulling things I will never use. I am sure my white elephants will be someone else's treasures.

Classes: Please check the Class page for this year's classes as they are posted and previous year's classes.

Jane Overman of Janes Fibers and Beads will be our bead vendor for our shopping convenience. Jane has a great shop with a selection of almost any bead you can imagine. She has been buying lots of new things for the retreat. If you have something special you would like for her to bring please let her know in advance.

Cost: The costs are - single occupancy - $365 and double occupancy - $265, Day visitor cost is $155. This will include food (excluding breakfast) for Friday night supper, Saturday lunch and supper and Sunday lunch, lodging Friday and Saturday nights and classes. The cost for the room on Thursday will be approximately $105.00. You will need to call the hotel and give your credit card to guarantee the room for Thursday.
